Because of substack, my "daily scrolling " has changed from meaningless Instagram scroll to reading something interesting on Substack. I figured that if I'm gonna scroll my phone anyways, why not spend it here with interesting people writing interesting stuff?!

“Don’t start a tirade, start a Substack. Because then you can get paid to tirade.”

That’d be my advice.

Substack: get paid for therapy instead of paying for therapy. You'll make some friends too!

I just started Substack. I like the format and the creator tools, ease of use. I like having a digital space just for writing. Once I get the hang of it, I hope to monetize.

I love Substack. It has given me a creative opportunity I never dreamed I would have. My readership is small but it is wonderful to share thoughts and ideas with others and amazing when they like or comment on your work. My late mother was an enthusiastic writer who passed away the year Substack came into being and I so wish she could have used it. She would have loved it. Thank you for giving such joy to so many. It is the only social media platform I use and it's brilliant.

I love being a reader and the comment section is full of feedback and kindness, generally. Something I don’t see on other social media platforms much. A haven of information and support.

Totally agree 💯 Folks are also tolerant of my sight issues which can be funny/awful .. it’s a wonderful meeting place for “thinkers, mystics, serious scientists, dreamers, activists .. welcome all”

“Confusion will be my epitaph

As I crawl a cracked and broken path”

Not that I think about my tombstone but this comes to mind first. Shiny nickel to who knows where this is from. No cheating!

Court of the Crimson King.

But you still get the shiny nickel. 🥳

Thanks for being a good sport.

Shows how long ago it was since I listened to any Crimson, time to dig out the vinyl and relive the good old days

"He was also the one who suggested that Substack be in charge of his customer support, which has defined the character of this company."

Funny - this made me think of an exchange with your customer support three years ago. I had changed jobs (and email) and forgot to cancel my subscription. I no longer needed Sinocism for work so I was dismayed when my card was suddenly charged $168, with no ability to expense.

Within two hours (!) your customer support reached out and help med refund, even though I guess you could've refused to do so. Kudos!

Subpar origin story guys.

Everyone knows all the good origin stories about inventions start with the invention being drawn on a napkin — you were even at a *bar* for heaven's sake 😪

Next time we tell it, I will do my best to advocate for a napkin anecdote!

Cool read. Cool platfrom. Started in mid-Oct. Release a free weekly newsletter. Growing slooowww and that's just right. Recommend Substack to anyone that asks on the multiple platforms I post on daily. Only seeing 🚀 for the platform going forward.

Substack has been truly life changing. The time I spent scrolling Twitter and Instagram has been replaced with reading inspiring, funny, thought provoking words from writers that bring me joy. What they’ve created here is community which is essential for writers to thrive and create. Thank you.

I love this: “Things go better when you get out of your own way.”

100% rang true for me - decided what’s the worst that can happen & finally set up my own Substack & started reaching out to potential interviewees!

Great story. However, "our savvy Support team that responds swiftly to queries": I'm afraid that has not been my experience overall. I'm still waiting for a proper , ie not automated, response to two questions I submitted on 5th January.
