I'm in the anti-summer category. I almost feel like I have reverse Seasonal Affective Disorder. And it seems endless, not in a good way. It's such a relief when September arrives, especially here in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Thanks for letting us summer-haters know that we're not alone!

Yep! By August, I am in full-swing summer SAD. And in Phoenix, summer lasts until the end of October. 😔

Today it was 118 degrees. Hottest summer on record. Glaring sun, unrelenting heat... You'd think I'd be used to it after 50+ years here. Nope.

Yes, winter is when it makes sense to stay in and bury yourself in a book. 📚

Fall is like sky diving with an iffy parachute: Enjoyment of what is happening is hampered by the dread of what is coming next!

I’m not really a “pumpkin spice girl” LOL. But Cheerios already delivered pumpkin spice flavored to the market. So I bought it. Power of suggestion!

I LOVE summer, and always feel a little sad when September rolls around. I know cold weather is coming, then the end of Daylight Saving, so it gets dark way too early, Halloween (not my favorite), and then endless holidays. Summer for me means play time. Probably a holdover from school days when summer meant no studies, no homework, no schedule. At 85 years old, I still find summer is the time when I can lie in my hammock in the evening with ABSOLUTELY NO PURPOSE than just to lie there and look up at the tree; when I can float in the pool without feeling "it must be time to get out and get ready for......). Give me my full August, please.

Summer ends in... over 6 weeks and it's the end of summer? I hate the summer doomers that ignore most of September is summer.

Fall is my favorite season. I simply get overheated through the summer. When fall arrives, with cooler temperatures and changing colors, my heart rejoices.

Yes it is a time for barbecues and thinking about the politicians you might like to turn into burnt sausages- a time for relaxing and calming, philosophical thoughts. Hmmm, this sausage must have been a populist politician; it stinks and tastes horrible!

I literally said out loud yesterday, 'I can't wait for Autumn', whilst images of pumpkins and fallen leaves, flashed through my mind! *sigh*

I love summer … AUGUST is the best month of the year… It is clear that many climatic things happen in this month but it is still a month where there is a lot of sun, sand, sea and everything becomes happier... it is my humble opinion.

Yes, I prefer Autumn. 100%. Summer can be beautiful but it’s mostly agony for me.

I love the art pieces, by the way!

Hazy summer days, sun warmed tomatoes, sweet wines, laughter on the porch, swimming at the lake. Campfires at night, open windows of cool night air. The quiet, the stillness, the waiting.

love to see the wheat turn full gold, so beautiful, all else is lush and green

but

then

right away it is harvested. And that's the beginning, of the end, of summer.
