Altered states of consciousness are necessary for survival. Yet how we get to them varies enormously. Join me at Verbotenly Unsanctioned where we unpack the why’s and how’s of altered states via intelligent self abuse. With music and comics too:)

Wow, Coleen! This curation feels like a guided tour through a gallery of thoughtful, deeply personal creativity. From the Brothers Quay's enigmatic brilliance to Jenna Park’s candid reflections, each recommendation resonates with the power of connection and introspection. Your commentary makes me want to dive into every single one—especially Flattening, which feels like an antidote to the chaos of modern life. The sip-and-bite pairings? Absolute genius, adding a sensory layer to the experience. Thank you for sharing this—it’s a reminder that the best art and writing don’t just inform, they invite us to feel.
