And over on Substack Pods....?

You promote the writers...

When are you going to start promoting the wonderful podcasts on this app?

Not sure I had the list you mentioned. In any event appreciate your efforts. Want to tell me how to post my pictures?

Josh Baldwin's "Mostly Animal Ethics" is a wonderful read of ethics and animals and life.

Also just launched with an inaugural post two days ago: Bruce's Substack https://bruceballenger.substack.com/ by Emeritus professor Bruce Ballenger, whose books on writing have been adopted at universities across the country, with essays on writing and theories of creative nonfiction.

One of the better lists compiled to date.

Frustrated with Substack. Although I enjoy many writers, some wear out. Yet I can’t get rid of them. Won’t try new writers cuz, if I decide I don’t want to read them, I’ll be stuck with them forever.

John,

Thanks so much for responding. Not certain I was clear that I am looking for a process to eliminate the occasional writer who has outgrown me but am pleased with many writers and do not object to receiving promotions.

So where do I click on top for the individual writer?

Again, thanks. I’m guessing that you’re a nice guy wanting to help and will tolerate my being a nuisance. Best.

Art, I think this may be what you’re looking for: In a browser (not on a phone), open your Substack account and click on your profile photo (top right).

Choose Settings from the menu that pops up. Scroll down until you see the list of all your subscriptions. Click on any that you want to adjust.

If you have paid subscriptions, you’ll choose to stop paying first. Then comes the Unsubscribe button for a free subscription.

You can also Google Substack Help to find their browsable help pages, which explain things with screenshots. I hope this helps!

Another nice person trying to help. I have attempted to follow your instructions. Don’t think I was able to as I never did see my profile photo. But did get a list that I was able to click on. We’ll see. I may get my photo on the page defining “helpless”. Thanks for your attempt, nice person

I see from your comment that you aren't using a profile photo, so that's my mistake neglecting to notice. You're right. You won't see a photo. It sounds like you found the right place despite my misleading direction. :-)

Recommending a newly launched Substack by Anthony R. Rhodd entitled "holding the Whole." HIs POV is possibly unique as he writes from the perspective of an incarcerated indigenous person within the Iowa Department of Corrections: https://anthonyrrhodd.substack.com/

Apologies for the delay in commenting (I've been consulting), but many thanks for the link.

Recommending the new Substack "The Draftland Scene" by former Entertainment Weekly critic Darren Franich -- weekly movie reviews, essays, musings. One of my favorite entertainment writers, a guy who can wax poetic about trash and make the esoteric accessible. He's like Chuck Klosterman if instead of basketball he knew everything about the 'Fast & Furious' franchise. Follow him here! https://draftlandscene.substack.com/
