So delighted to see Samantha Clark's words on water take up space here, especially after recommending this very piece on Thursday's Shout Out thread. Thanks, team, for delivering these important words to the masses! x

Great collection, Substack Reads - food, fashion, depression, sports, writing and Matthew Perry. That was very sad, in the same way that recent deaths of 1400+ athletes and hundreds of not old actors and other prominent individuals from "sudden cause we will not mention, nor have an autopsy to explain" breaks one's heart. Not only because it is an untimely death of a person who was fooled by those he/she trusted into self-extermination. The bigger tragedy is loss of the most important human value - being honest and telling the truth.

Great recs! I’d like to add Reality Tunnels, a substack that blows my mind every time. It covers perception, language, anthropology, neuroscience etc to explore why we think and perceive the world the way we do - and how and why people in other cultures might have a different experience. Here’s a link to the most recent:

Good recommendations, as always

I’m giving a shoutout to a new Substack, a moving essay recalling childhood trauma while at school in London and how the surge of public displays of antisemitism after Oct 7, has rekindled those long suppressed memories (I’m biased when it comes to this writer/author, she is my wife :-)

Great pieces once again. Matthew Perry's passing away is one of the saddest things ever, given his ability to always bring joy and laughter to the table.
