"freed from the messiness of wanting" is quite the euphemism. But the problem is quite a lot of people don't believe it is a burden - or at least they don't behave that way. They behave, in fact, as though they love wanting to the point that they have made it their entire identity. Entitled. Needy. Competitive. They will defend a system that makes others need to want because their sense of validation hinges on the existence of such a system. We must writhe in the mud because of quite how many of us are championship mudwrestlers.
I think it depends on what you call "wanting"? If it becomes a buyer's crutch for creating for becoming dependent on something new, the first to have something, or an identity for validation of yourself, business etc. then it becomes a compulsion. If, on the other hand wanting is discovery, creativity and imagination stimulation than it changes the equation from "needing to have", to expanded awareness and innovation.
Ahhh I can't believe you linked my essay! Thank you so much. I have the biggest, goofiest grin plastered on my face right now, and I think it will stay for the rest of the weekend.
At first, we realized and lived connected and part of the experience of being in the world; then we reasoned (Cartesian), “I think therefore I am;” then, “I feel, therefore I am;” now it’s “I want, therefore I am.” Next, I am what AI says… oh, my.

So, on this dance routine — maybe I’m missing it, but can someone explain what makes it so extraordinary that I’ve seen it everywhere? I’m trying to see if it’s an algorithm pushing this or it’s genuinely that amazing — and if so, how much more better is it than others we’ve seen
Mark Zuckerberg needs to be reined in by a Jewish Pope. No Pope - let’s create one! Say rabbi Bogomoini from Brazil who lives in Doral! We must have someone to speak the truth to power!!!! Judaism needs it. We need it
It's amazing how easy not spending money while living comfortably becomes the longer you practice it. I'm not talking about forced poverty rather lack of unnecessary indulgences. You end up sitting on large quantities of cash with no want to spend it. And I don't mean the fear of not having it, I mean no material wants that drive your psyche. It's real. On the A.I. subject I've logically argued a couple points that I'll briefly share that show how out of touch these platforms really are. #1 I got "them" to admit that chickens couldn't have originated on this planet. Unbelievable! #2 after I baited "it" into a conversation about old school G.M. big blocks and newer high power G.M. small blocks and r.p.o. codes. I spent two paragraphs calling out the lies that were manifested, first it was apologizes and I'll add that to my data. Then I made "them" admit they were intentionally using disinformation to deceive. Great topics, I hope some will decide to stop unnecessary spending, and if not stop, keep that cash flowing to products sourced and manufactured in this country.
I love that he was vulnerable with what he wanted on the other hand. When my kids want things, sometimes I tell them "don't make it so obvious and others will give it" but there's ALWAYS a sadness that is paired with telling kids how the world really works - people are all looking for acceptance but if you admit to trying for it, you're in the lower castes. I hate that for all of us, and I learned as a teen that there was nothing at the "top" and had my own existential crisis, and that authenticity + betterment is the best way to live, plus a little dabble of social conformity, bc all of that is indeed, true!
for the record i’m still not over this whole canary situation
Why’s that

I think that's called capitalism and I agree with you entirely.
Hmmm ... the infamous Anna Wintour and the Met Gala come to mind. The pinnacle of needing to be noticed in such a beautifully vain way.
Coming soon, I believe. "Fashion is Art ... focusing on the centrality of the dressed body in visual culture."
Such interesting word salads, to sound so intellectually superior in a counter-culturally relevant way.
🤣🤣 What did I just do, pass the salad dressing please. 🤦🏼♀️

I would just love to be freed from messiness. Perhaps in the form of a tidying fairy. That’s it. Simple.
This post is the gift that just keeps on giving.
Sure

Aw..thank you, Irena!
Alex, I loved your edit on Patrick Nathan’s essay, which really highlighted for me at least the rain in Paris, which he captured wonderfully.
Thank you! <3
Patrick, I loved your piece!
😭 thank you so much!
I'm so fond of Katherine Dee's thoughts. So happy to see her here!

How Anti-glorious it would be to be freed of the Messiah
You have to integrate them

The Jews need a Jewish pope especially to speak to the giant mark Zuckerberg, who disparages those who call him egregious

Which country?
