Chat is now available for Android
Great conversations can happen anywhere.
Today we are excited to share that Chat is now available on Android. Chat is a community space reimagined specifically for writers and creators—it’s like having a private social network with your favorite writer and fellow subscribers who, like you, sincerely appreciate their work.
You will see conversations in the Chat tab in your Substack app when publications you subscribe to turn it on.
Since launching Chat for iOS earlier this month, we’ve watched as readers have jumped into all manner of live conversations with the writers they love most.
To celebrate bringing Chat to Android, some beloved Substack writers plan to host their first conversations today. Subscribers can check out those conversations in the links below, and also visit their app to see new chats hosted by publications they already subscribe to.

Ooh! 😃 Yay. Cause I'm getting pretty tired of the whole android versions being left in the dust of you fancy iPhone people 🤣 #AndroidLivesMatter
This has been great! (We're having a lot of fun with it over at the Department of Salad; it's basically turned into a crowd-sourced gift list for cooks.)
