Sorry, but can you remind us what AMA stands for? All I can think is American Medical Association. Lecture line-up looks great, btw

Exactly! If you want to write, inform your readers first.

That was the first thing I wondered - what is AMA? A search of the internet returned American Medical Association.

I hope they see this and update with a definition. It's a very Reddit-era term that's ubiquitous on that platform, but if you've never come across it then you wouldn't know it. There shouldn't be an assumption of knowledge.

Or, AMA - against medical advice

It's good writing practice to define acronyms the first time used in an article. I, too, had zero context for AMA, other than American Medical Association.

I do wish assumptions would not be made that everyone would know what AMA means. It demonstrates a lack of professionalism.

When are you doing AMA’s in the UK and with UK writers?

Darn, I thought it was the American Motorcycle Association.

AMA ???

Academy of Model Aeronautics?

American Marketing Association?

American Motorcyclist Association?

American Medical Association?

Seriously??!

Dictation transcription works pretty good most of the time. So no one really needs to abbreviate anything anymore to save time.

In this world, as it currently is, one of the things we need to do most is illuminate confusion in communication.

It's a bit sad to begin your wonderful new venture with the first sin of internet jargon. Do you seek to inform or to obfuscate? What the hell is AMA?

What is AMA? I don't get it

Oh, Eric Hoel is the best! I drew a portrait him for Sam Harris’ Waking Up app. 😃

Here is the latest laugh: "Your questions answered by Substack resident experts"

The answer provided must have been generated by artificial intelligence.

The answer does not contain an answer.

Whether the artificial intelligence is electronic or biologic I can not tell.

Are these lectures recorded for later listening? I found out about Erik Hoel's just now, so I missed it.

It would have been nice if Erik Hoel's AMA was announced a bit sooner than just 5 hours beforehand, meaning I missed it by half an hour. Yes, the other AMA sessions are announced in time, but unfortunately I'm not so interested in their topics.

Please, please, please, Substack, announce such tours AT LEAST a day in advance. I'm not checking my Substack emails every 5 minutes, normally only once a day.

This was not easy to join today for Eric's talk. Was not able to get in. You need to make it much easier and direct. Is it on Luma? or Zoom? or where? the new app doesn't guide you to where it is.
